This three-part training series is designed to help participants understand chemistry concepts applicable in many process and energy related industries. It provides introductory material to apply general, organic and water chemistry principles to industry examples.
The Applied Chemistry series is designed for entry-level process operating technicians, or anyone requiring fundamental knowledge of chemistry in the process industry. Many of the terms used are defined or explained throughout the courses, so participants are not required to have an extensive technical vocabulary to understand the content.
eLearning courses included:
(Select a program for more information or to preview online.)
Applied Chemistry: General ChemistryIntroduces the fundamentals of matter, atomic structure, the basic principles of molecules and the physical properties of atoms and molecules that differentiate them from one another.
Applied Chemistry: Inorganic Chemistry Of WaterPresents the properties of water, water solutions and the effects of the many contaminants present in water that affect industrial facilities.
Applied Chemistry: Organic ChemistryIntroduces the chemistry of hydrocarbon compounds and their derivatives from methane and other chemicals.
